What are the top attractions to see when visiting Little Rock? I’ve read that the zoo, the Old Mill, Quapaw Quarter historic district and the Clinton Library are all well-worth a visit. Does anyone have additional places that a new traveler to Little Rock should explore especially those places off the beaten track.
The Clinton Library is pretty cool. It's more than just pictures of the president. They have some pretty top notch changing exhibits that are geared towards kids and grown ups who like to have fun. A lot of places are within walking distance, You could visit Heifer International, which showcases the charity's world around the world, or you could visit the governor's mansion. Memorial Day weekend brings the party with Riverfest, the giant festival.
Folks traveling to Little Rock in October can have a lot of fun at the Arkansas State Fair. Entertainment, pageants, competitions, livestock, and much more. This annual event will be going on from October 12 to October 21 so there's plenty of time to visit the midway.
You can visit the Christ of the Ozarks, the alligator museum. I have heard these are pretty good attractions too Have fun!
Little Rock is the capital of Arkansas, so that adds another layer to your options. You can tour the state capitol, which is a pretty neat building. It's open for guided tours during the weekday. If you like guided tours, the ones at the Clinton Center are really great. They're well trained and give some cool tours.
