I ran across some interesting advice in an article. With so much to see and so many long walking tours, it makes sense to wear good shoes. Check out this article about the shoes the pros use for good shoes. What kind of shoes do you swear by for your tours?

I would imagine walking in europe would be no different than walking in the usa. what brand the shoes are doesn't really matter to me as long as they comfortable and durable. I pretty much buy shoes from word of mouth rather than reading biased comments.

Everyone's feet and walking patterns are different, especially in the countryside and the city. For hiking in rough terrain, I wear a pair of comfortable, flexible, narrow hikers, and double-layered socks to prevent friction and blisters. Insoles are also worth looking into. Spenco insoles are meant to be good as they provide a firm cushion and take up the extra space that seems to be in all running and hiking footwear.
