im planning a trip to Lake Tahoe in Feb, but am unfamiliar with the area and am a beginner when it comes to skiing. Are there some resorts that are more beginner-friendly than others?

I went to Lake Tahoe over Christmas break and stayed at the Hyatt, and one day we skied at North Star and the rest of the time we skied at Diamond Peak (which I think is the best place for skiing beginners). I am a real beginner and Diamond Peak was definately the resort for us, and the lessons were great.

There is also Sierra-at-Tahoe, which is about 10 miles out of South Lake Tahoe, though it is great for beginners. It even has a beginner run called Sugar and Spice that goes from the top of the mountain all the way down to the bunny slope.

Boreal resort is known for its beginning slopes and runs. They even have night skiing to avoid the daytime and weekend crowds.
