If you're in Amsterdam or Paris and want to visit either city on a day trip you can do so very easily by train. From Amsterdam, you need to head to Amsterdam Centraal which is where the Thalys train departs to Gare du Nord in Paris. You should book well in advance (90-days if possible) as it's a very popular route that gets always sold out.

travel from amsterdam to paris cheap

Bus is the cheapest way but if you're not too crazy about it you could try checking Vueling budget airlines for flights to Paris. You can get tickets for 35 euro per flight if you book 5 months in advance. This makes it even cheaper than train which costs around 100 euro.
