Formerly known as the Bill's Gamblin' Hall (and Barbary Coast before that) is to reopen May 21 as The Cromwell. Close to $200 million has been spent for a French design-type makeover with a contemporary decor. You can already make reservations for The Cromwell by calling (844) I-AM-CROM, (844) 426-2766. A deluxe king room at The Cromwell will cost between $250 and $300 depending on seasonality.

I miss Bills Gamblin...i used to be a regular there. I know it needed a face lift but the way it's turned into a"boutique" hotel I cannot say i like it. I haven't been there but im told the location of the rooms is awful. The windows of the rooms overlook traffic.

I've seen photos of the Cromwell and everything looks deeply red, with lots of gold accents, red upholstered leather columns, etc. In other words, it's very pretty, embellished and ornate, which reminds me so much to the Barbary Coast...it very much looks like it.
