    Cai Be Floating Market

Location: Cai Be Floating Market is held where the Tien Giang River forms the border between the provinces of Tien Giang, Vinh Long, and Ben Tre. It takes about one hour to reach the market from the town of Vinh Long Province.

Characteristics: Approximately 400 to 500 boats filled with fruits, vegetables, and other products are anchored along the banks of the river, from 5 am to 5 pm every day. The merchandise sold in each boat is hung on a pole in front of the boat to attract customers.

This is sure a different way to shop. Has anyone had a chance to see the Cai Be Floating Market? What was the favorite thing you bought there? This is a popular destination for cruises who are visiting the Mekong Delta, a day trip from Ho Chi Minh City.

The Cai Rang Floating Market, the largest wholesale floating market in the Mekong Delta, starts around 05:00 and runs until around midday, meaning that you’ll have to get an early start to the day if you want to visit. Most tour boats along the riverfront leave between 05:00 and 07:00, so if don’t make it to the water by then you’ll have a hard time finding a tour. Read more : Mekong Delta Tours agency

Hello Caroline, Thanks so much for providing more information about the market. 5 a.m. is a really early start. That makes sense to hit the markets early for the best shopping and tours along the Mekong River. What's your favorite finds at the market?

Fresh Fruits is the feature when you go to Cai Be Float market. Everybody live on small boat, sell and buy everything. Even many Vietnamese people can't imagine the scene of Cai Be Float market if they don't really visit it.

I would prefer heading to Can Tho for overnight stay to do both Phong Dien and Cai Rang floating market next early morning.
