There's been some sort of oil spill off the Los Angeles County coastline of California and now Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo beaches are closed. Basically, all of the way from the El Segundo Jetty to Torrance Beach is shut.

Oil spill again? Haven't they learnt from the gulf of Mexico spill years back? Glad that the California Senate will vote to ban oil drilling off Santa Barbara County coast, though this should be done nation-wide.

I read somewhere that the source of the oil that has been washing ashore South Bay beaches is most likely local and not from the Santa Barbara oil spill.
