charging consumers travel insurance

    The insurance regulator for Florida have said that online travel agencies that sell travel insurance by using opt-out methods are in violation of the state's Unfair Insurance Trade Practices Act. Interesting this has come out now...I always thought there's something iffy with the practice of automatically charging consumers travel insurance.

    I couldn't agree more. It doesn't seem fair to require that they add the fee to someone's package. It should be a choice. It is insurance after all.
