The Choustnik Castle Ruins are surely worth doing as it'll be a nice day hike in the Forrest with a history lesson!

The castle ruins are about 9 miles from the top to the parking area, but you will need to leave your car in the village and walk into the hills following the green trail. Once there, you will find a tower that you can climb to get nice views from the top.

Overall, it's not a hard hike even if your fitness isn't that good, though since you're traveling with kids I suggest taking the Forrest trail as it's a paved path.
