I am wanting to take a 3-4 day trip to a beach (NO camping). I have a 2 year old daughter and would like to do soemthing fun for her. What beach is the closest? THANKS!
I was looking around and really couldn't find many near beaches. What i would suggest would be is to call the of Pigeon Forge Department Of Tourism. There number is (865) 429-7444. I'm sure they would be glad to help. Please feel free to ask me anymore questions you might have.
Your best best in one of the indoor waterparks in the Smoky Mountains regions. But if you want an actual swim-in-the-ocean beach, you'll have to head east through North Carolina to the coast. It's a seven or eight hour drive...so that may be too long for a short vacation. I'm sure there are some lakes around there with sandy beaches.
I wouldn't recommend a nearby beach to Pigeon Forge Tennessee as the nearest beach is 7 hours away. A better idea is visiting a Pigeon Forge Hotel with a Pool Gatlinburg to Folly Beach in Charleston, South Carolina is 352 miles and approximately 7 hours driving time. Gatlinburg to St. Catherine's Sound in Savannah, Georgia is 386 miles and approximately 7 hours driving time. Gatlinburg to Carolina Beach in North Carolina is 411 miles and approximately 7 1/2 hours driving time. Gatlinburg to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is 377 miles and approximately 7 hours driving time.
