We're coming to Nicaragua this week on a very tight budget, and there are 6 of us. we've heard you can go through El rama to Bluefields? Anyone done this route. Okay for kids? Could be a great adventure, but would love more info. Thanks

I've been to the Corn Islands and there is nothing to fear. In fact, it is a great experience for anyone to travel by PANGA down the river from Rama to Bluefields, then on by ferryboat to the Corn Islands.

As for the ride on the ferry to the Islands, make sure you all take motion sickness pills. This is the open sea and it gets really rough so you will get sick.

By the way, if you don't fancy the boat ride, you can always fly from Bluefields to the Islands, it cuts the cost a bit and is better on the stomach:)
