hows anyone dived in the Maldives as of late? I heard of shark attacks and dangerous marine life on their waters..anyone can share more info on this?
Shark attacks? Nope, never heard of any on the Maldives. I mean there are dangerous fish and corals life like the Scorpionfish, which have sharp venom spines, and the coral reefs like the Yellow fire Coral which are a bit dangerous. The great thing about diving in the Maldives is the clear waters, which means visibility is usually good, though I'd avoid diving deeper than 25 meters and decompression stops in open water as you can be swept many miles away without being able to stop for a single instant.
Diving is one of the best ways to spend time and enjoy water in Maldives. You don't have to worry about sharks if you go in the diving season, which is from November to May.. Even though there are different kinds of sharks, you will be advised on the area for diving. So no worries, just enjoy!!
