Here it's some great stop-over suggestions for anyone planning to road trip Idaho and happen to do the I-95 stretch between Coeur d'Alene and Lewiston. McCroskey State Park and the town of Moscow are two places you gotta stop over and experience.

You can do things like horseback riding, camping and ATV at McCroskey Park; while in Moscow you can visit the University of Idaho, which is surrounded by the beautiful rolling Palouse hills.

things to do in Moscow Idaho

The botanical garden at the University of Idaho is really beautiful and worth spending a good 2 hours. Other things worth doing/seeing in Moscow are visiting the Appaloosa museum and taking a ride along the Latah Trail bike.

If you drive through Idaho, be sure to also drive thru HWY 12 from Lewiston to Kooskia (along the Montana border) and stop by one of the nice small towns along the Clearwater river. The drive up the river is very scenic and pleasant.

McCroskey park is great fun, especially if you like exploring but make sure you keep along the 18 mile Skyline Drive inside McCrosky State Park to avoid getting lost. The Skyline Drive offers beautiful views of the Palouse. Also, the park is free admission.
