To get around Fiji island-hopping and get some of the most remote areas of Fiji such as Kadavu you will need to use ferries or join a sightseeing tour. You can catch high speed ferry services from Denarau Marina to the resorts on the Mamanuca islands. If you didn't know, Mana Island is the only island with a wharf; so if you're arriving at the other islands you will be picked up by a dinghy.

Island hopping sounds like a good idea but I wouldn't waste my time island hopping every island because you waste most of your day waiting for boat transfers and on the water traveling between.

    Fiji by plane

Shame how so many tourists never leave the western side of Fiji...I mean, who travels to a place only to be in a self-contained hotel? If you do want to venture out to Suva or other parts of Viti Levu it's best you fly from Nadi as driving takes 5 hours.
