I'm used to driving everywhere, so it does first cross my mind that I would need to think differently for traveling around Europe. What do you know about ferry routes in Europe? What do they tend to cost? Are they comfortable? What about Venice ferries?
not necessarily wanderer...most people in Europe actually travel by road or public transportation. In fact, Europe's railway system is pretty solid and you can connect cheaply to most corners on Europe by riding the train. River cruises in Europe are also popular but it's more a touristy thing than anything else and they don't come cheap.
The rail system is a good way to get around, that's for sure. The ferries are not a bad way if you want to hop between the UK and Northern France, or other watery destinations like Italy, Greece and southern Spain. They're great ways to get to the big islands like Corsica and the http://www.destination360.com/europe/spain/canary-islands] Canary Islands.
