If you didn't know a massive wildfire shut down a section of Glacier National Park for the last few days...I believe firefighters are still tackling the fire, though it's almost contained. They have opened the St Mary Visitor Center now though.

I believe the fire started at Reynolds Creek. The fire in Glacier has burned about 3200 acres and while the St. Mary visitor center is open, a huge section of the scenic Going-to-the-Sun Road in the park is still closed from Logan Pass to St. Mary, though Logan Pass is accessible from the westside. If you do there, they say it's best to take the park shuttle due to extremely limited parking.

Glacier National Park reopened the entire Going-to-the-Sun Road but as we speak a new fire is burning in the Thompson Creek area, just west of the Upper Nyack Backcountry Campground.
