I hope I can get some sound advice on this forum. I'm planning a vacation in March to the Caribbean and I can't decide where to go. People seem to recommend the Bahamas, but not sure why...any ideas? What would you recommend, and what would prices on the hotels on these islands be?

    Thank you

Bahamas is the number 1 Caribbean destination of choice, but the downside is that is way to commercialised, you might as well just go to Miami Beach! Honestly, bypass the Bahamas and go for the Cayman, USVI or Jamaica, my favorite spot in the Caribbean.

I find that Jamaica all inclusive resorts are definitely the best and you'll love the jamaican people, even though they get an unfounded wrap for crime. If you want to do alot of activities stay in Ochos Rios, or Negril, which has one of the best beaches in Jamaica!

There are so many options for Caribbean travel (and the Bahamas are not really in the Caribbean but the Atlantic Ocean)

You can choose from beach resorts to all-inclusives (like Sandals or SuperClubs),

Consider a cruise to sample several islands first or at the least, explore this or similar websites to get an idea where you want to go and what you want to do once you get there. Then working out logistics like airfares, travel times, availability, budget, etc will fall into place.
