While most National Parks in Michigan are free, you do have to pay to get into Sleeping Bear. The good news is that you can avoid this charge this coming week. There'll be free National Park days on April 18-19. Other free days to National Parks this year are August 25, September 26 and November 11.

The other free days are August 25 (National Park Service Birthday), September 26 (National Public Lands Day), November 11 (Veterans Day), January 19 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) and February 14-16 (Presidents Day weekend).

It costs $10 per vehicle to get in the park, and it's good for seven days. You can buy a season long permit for $20. The $80 pass allows entry into all of the national parks. The senior rate is $10 for the pass, and it's good for a lifetime, rather than just a year.
