    Hi,

In late spring we will be taking a deserved vacation in Vermont and I am intending in doing a bit of fishing there and maybe teach my kid a little angling..I was wondering if we need permits down there, and if so, where to get them and how much they cost...any other suggestions welcome!

    thanks

    hi there,

Yes, you will need a permit which you can get from the Vermont Fish and Wildlife agency, and licenses cost around $41 for non-residents, although under 15's don't need one. However, if you are purchase a 7 day fishing permit it is ony $30.

Also, while there I would recommended to hire one of the many Vermont fishing guides to show you the best places for Vermont fishing.

For instance, the Orvis Company in Manchester Vermont has a fly-fishing school and the fishing guides there give three-day courses weekly from April to October.
