Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced that their ship Braemar will be based in Southampton for a six-month cruise season, from May to November in 2016, scheduled to call into European destinations including Seville (Spain), Flensburg (Germany) and Rouen (France) where the ship can cruise right into the heart of destinations and along stunning rivers and waterways thanks to its shorter and shallower draft.

Seeing Europe by cruise is amazing..but I advise to research what you want to do because on most ports you can’t even walk into the main town without getting a cruise line shuttle or taxi. Oh yes, and use the ATM in the ports of call, not the ship:)

If you plan on doing a Western Mediterranean cruise you will be anchored at ports such as Barcelona and Rome which are great cities. However, don't just focus only on those ports but spend a couple of days before and/or after the cruise in each city, especially if it's a first time visit to Europe.
