There are several ways to get from Bocas del Toro to Panama City: plane, bus, or self-drive. The fastest way is flying which takes under 50 minutes, though it costs nearly $300 for a round trip ticket. Driving takes nearly half-day and the bus is the best option, though it's not direct. You will first need to get a boat from Bocas del Toro to Albrook Bus Terminal. From there catch the bus to Almirante and from there another bus to Panama City.

I have done this route before and once you arrive at Almirante you can catch a direct bus to Panama City. The direct bus may get sold out if traveling during the peak season. If that's the case, you can take a bus to David and then another bus from David to Panama City.

If you're traveling from Panama City or from Costa Rica to Bocas del Toro is faster and more convenient to fly from Panama City or San Jose. Air Panama and Nature Air service this route. The main airport is Isla Colon International Airport (BOC).
