If you've never been to Boise, here is some advise on the best area to stay in and things to do. First off, I would say that if you are a nature lover, you will love day trips to the the greenbelt, the foothills and Kathryn Albertson Park. There's the MK Nature Center close to downtown, which you cannot miss also. if you hire a car, another fun thing to do in Boise is drive around the North End to check out the old restored homes.

Boise is nice but you really need to travel a bit to enjoy the outdoors. I suggest going to McCall (about 90 miles North) of Boise. The drive there is a beautiful drive and once there you can do all type of outdoor activities like skiing, biking, boating, hiking, fly fishing, etc....

You could also head to Hagerman and Gooding, which are about 90 minutes drive east of Boise. Hagerman has hot springs where you can soak in and also the fossil bed national monument. The city of Gooding has a cheese family dairy, which you can tour and sample.
