I am in the early stages of planning a trip to Salzburg in June, and want to spend a day at Konigssee, do another hike at Hallstatt in the Salzkammergut, and I also want to do a solid 3-4 day mountain hiking trip, staying in mountain huts for the 3-4 nights.

Any ideas where I could find a good source that has details for a self-guided hiking trip, particularly near Salzburg and the Salzkammergut?

I'd suggest thinking about starting hiking from Königsee to Werfen in Salzburg. There are mountain huts in places like Karlingerhaus, Riemanshaus, Matrashaus, Ostpreussenhütte where u can sleep overnight.

Make sure though, you have a plan B though because the weather in Salzburg during June isn't great (freezing rain).

As far as a source for selfguided hikes, a trick I have learned is to Google for guided trips. Often they give a day by day description of their route. All you have to do is use the route and book the huts yourself without paying someone to guide you.
