Aloha, Finally, we are about to plan our first ever holiday to the Philippines and I would appreciate all the input we could get! First, I wanted to ask what a holiday to the Philippines might entice and what we can expect there...do people speak English there? Also, we love water activities. Can you suggest any popular place where we could this? thanks
hi there, The Philippines will offer you an amazing experience and, yes, English is widely spoken and the people are known for their warm and friendly hospitality. Another plus point is that the Philippine archipelago is relatively affordable and you can find discount hotels everywhere. If you love water activities, the island of Siargao is known as a surfing haven. Also, the Philippines boasts world-class diving destinations like the Tubbataha Reef and the Apo Reef, and the number of dive operators across the country is impressive. Hope this helps Vacationbuddy
Try visiting these places when you're in The Philippines 1. The Pearl Farm in Davao 2. Amanpulo in Palawan 3. Misimis Bay in Albay 4. Caramoan Islands in Cam Sur 5. Boracay Water sports are normally offered on those beaches like snorkeling, white water rafting, island hopping, kayak, jet ski, scuba diving, wake boarding etc. A lot of people in The Philippines knows how to speak English so there will be no problem in that area. Enjoy!
my advice to first time travelers to the Philippines is to lower your expectations. Somehow, when people travel to the Philippines and get ripped off, they feel really gutted. The Philippines is just like any other country so scams on tourists are also common. if you want to avoid getting ripped off by the airport taxis on arrival, best you catch a taxi from the departure area.
El Nido tops my list.. I have been there and I even stayed for almost a month. The beauty of El Nido Palawan would definitely mesmerize anyone who goes to this magical place. My second on my list is Boracay. It is famous for its powdery white sand and breathtaking beauty with sparkling emerald waters. You will have no idle time because exciting things never run out in Bora. Well, a lot of Filipino knows how to speak in english so dont worry about that. people here will welcome you warmly. You will never regret of visiting this country.
