The convention center in Rhode Island is located right off exit 22A and it's pretty easy to get to by car, commuter train or bus. if you take the bus, though, you need to remember that the bus won't drop you off at the convention center. You will have to walk a few blocks. As far as hotels near the convention center, note that hotel in Providence often charge for parking; while those outside the city don't.

I love this convention centre because of its location near the waterfront, capitol and shopping center. The only thing I am not too fond about is the concession stand food and the parking fee, which is like $15 for the whole day. Another drawback of this center is that there's a very long walk from the car park to the actual exhibit hall, which is not good for elderly or handicapped people.

Parking can be such a bother, but in the scheme of things, $15 isn't too bad for a full day's adventures. It's nice that everythingiyou want to do is so close to the Providence convention centre.
