For those who don't know, the ICE is a high speed train, while the IC is much slower. Saying this, the ICE isn't always faster than the IC. In fact, if you travel between Munich and Stuttgart, there is no benefit to using the ICE as the line winds through hills and valleys meaning the IC is just as quick. When you travel to Germany do you prefer using the ICE trains or the IC trains?

Both ICE trains and IC trains are very comfortable and while the IC is generally a little cheaper on major routes, the IC is always overcrowded, so you really have to book in advance.
