Advice? Is it smart/easy to travel with my iPhone? I know I don't want to pay AT&T's international rates, but what else is going on? What else should I know?
AT&T's International Calling Plan small print I’d definitely keep an eye on how much you use your smart phone overseas or you could end up mounting up thousands of dollars in cell phone charges because you forgot to check the list of countries included in the AT&T's International Calling Plan...so make sure the country you're traveling to is included in the plan.
Yes! Be very careful about data. If you're really concerned about racking up huge bills, leave your phone at home! A lot of the hotels have business centers that you can use, and some have WiFi. But I've heard of people still getting charged for cellular data when they're not thinking they're using it. You also can rent phones in the country you're visiting...or buy a new SIM card to use the local service.
