    hi all!

I am planning an Iowa fishing trip with a few friends and I wanted to know a bit more about fishing there.

    1. what kind of fishing is popular there?
    2. what are the hotspots for fishing in Iowa?
    3. what's trout fishing like there?

    hi there,

If you're guys coming here for the first time, the state has plenty of outfitters, boat rentals, bait shops, guides, and lake lodging locales that offer fishing tours.

The Department of Natural Resources has a few visitor centers along the state, and a visitor center is one of the best places to plan your fishing trip. For instance, you can find visitor centers in Spirit Lake, Rathburn, Fairport, Big Springs, Manchester, and Decorah.

If you're looking to fish for trout, you're required to purchase a special permit. Having said this, Spring Branch Creek, found on the grounds of the Manchester fishery grounds, is one of the top places for Iowa trout fishing.
