if traveling to Japan, you must visit Samurai City or “Little Kyoto,â€..also known as Kanazawa, the capital of Ishikawa Prefecture. This place is about 3 hrs ride from Tokyo on the Hokuriku Shinkansen train. There are tons to be done there in terms of places to visit like Kenroku-en Garden, where the famous Kotoji Toro lantern and Japan’s oldest natural fountain are located.

The old samurai district of Kanazawa (Nagamachi Samurai District) is a nice area to walk around, especially at sunset/dusk. This place feels so historic...if you're into samurai stuff you will love visiting this part of Japan.
