Im planning Maldives diving holiday with a friend and I was wondering if international scuba certifications accepted in the Maldives? also, does anyone know of wrecks or underwater landmarks worth checking out there?

Any tips oh how to keep a diving holiday in the Maldives on the affordable side? thanks people!

    hi there,

If you guys are going to the Maldives for a diving holiday, make sure you book a package to keep the price down. If you are planning on diving every day, booking a package with a tour company that is recommended by your resort is the best way to keep your diving holiday very affordable.

If you are looking to take lessons or earn your certification, this doesn’t need to be reserved in advance because there are many Maldives diving schools.

All international scuba certifications are accepted in the Maldives beaches, and if you’re looking to earn a certification, you can do so in the Maldives as well.

Regarding wrecks, there is a shipwreck called Wreck of the Maldives Victory which sunk in 1981. There is also more natural underwater wonders like Banana Reef where black coral and barracuda can be seen.
