I've never been to one but came across this place in Germany called the Tropical Islands indoor resort in Krausnick. The resort resembles a tropical island with beach, lagoon, and exotic flora and fauna. It looks kind of neat though without the sun it's really missing the point, I think. Has anyone been to a man made beach before?

Right off the bat I'd say anything man made that is meant to replicate nature falls to replicate nature abysmally. Man cannot beat nature at its own game and that's because nature is natural. Man made is not. Case in point, the Tropical Islands Resort in Krausnick looked stunning on some images but on others it did not look that impressive.

I heard that the big beach in Barcelona is man-made and not real. But its a very good beach.

There are some of them here in China as well, but I don´t find them very impressive. Some of them look good, but the bathing facilities isn´t as you would want them.
