Two of Marriott’s hotels in the Caribbean are for sale. They are the Courtyard Port of Spain in Trinidad and the Courtyard Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. The Courtyard in Trinidad was built in 2004 and has 119 guestrooms and three suites. The Courtyard in Santo Domingo was built in 2003 and has 145 guestrooms and four suites.

That's interesting because Marriott announced a few days ago that it would be acquiring Starwood Hotels and Resorts to become the world’s largest hotel company. Strange that they would sell these two hotels...I wonder why.

A lot of those big resorts have more than one owner, especially the big expensive ones in the Caribbean and other exotic locations. It's possible that Marriott didn't want to work with a partner anymore or they needed to free up some cash for the Starwood transition.
