    hey folks,

a few of us are planning a trip to Central America next year and we deciding between Costa Rica and El Salvador. I hear that El Salvador is cool for surfing and I was wondering if there was mayan ruins in El Salvador to check out?

    hi there,

Tazumal site is about 40 miles of the city of El Salvador and at this place you can see tombs, pyramids, statues and pieces of Mayan art.

I would suggest hiring a guide rather than just looking around so learn about this place. Getting in is inexpensive, and local guides are available at the entrance for an extra fee and they will share their expertise on not only the archaeological site, but about the people who lived there
