The Henry Doorly Zoo, which is one of the nicest zoos I've ever visited, is hosting a special day dedicated to the amazing orangutan.

The event is planned for Nov. 12---keepers will give talks throughout the day at the Hubbard Orangutan Forest. These primates are really endangered, and you can learn how to help save them. Guests are encouraged to bring their old cell phones. All of the proceeds will help save the critters and their habitats.

    Omaha zoo's events

I agree with wanderer on this! Omaha's zoo is one of the best in the country...I went to Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago the other day, and Omaha zoo blew it out the water!

By the way, I should also mention that Omaha Zoo is having a Halloween special event on 29th and 30th October called "Spooktacular". I think tickets are about $10 per person but children 2 and under get in for free.
