Who would have ever thought paid parking on the strip? But it could come as soon as spring 2016. The new MGM Arena is scheduled to be open April 2016

There’s no new parking garage planned so visitors must park at existing casino garages at New York-New York, Monte Carlo, Aria and maybe even MGM Grand. MGM hasn’t decided whether it will charge for parking during arena events, but that it’s possible, especially in the two garages closest to the arena.

Let's wait until next year to see what happens.

Charging for parking at the arena is acceptable but if they start to charge for parking at any of their hotels it will be ridiculous, not to mention that most people won't be paying for parking when they are out to spend and gamble.

I can already see MGM International taking away free parking. If MGM does plan on charging for parking at any of their garages, then the rest of the properties will have to follow suit, otherwise, it would be a parking nightmare for other resorts on the strip. I think MGM is making a mistake if they go ahead with this because it will keep huge amounts of people away.
