The Platte River is one of the best places in the world to bird watch, especially in the spring, so I'm betting there are some wonderful places to hike and camp. In the town of Louisville, the Platte River State Park is one of the best places to enjoy the views. You can hike to the top of the Lincoln Journal Tower and stay overnight. The campground is open year-round, and the cabins and tepees are available for rent during the warmer months of the year.
