the cost of the taxi from the airport to Amman centre is roughly $35 (JOD20) during the daytime but if you arrive there at night don't be fooled by taxi drivers wanting to charge you double because all taxis at the airport have a fixed price. Best thing to do is go to the taxi desk at arrivals and book a taxi through them to avoid any issues.

Re: Queen Alia Airport to Amman centre by bus

I'd go with the bus since it only costs three Jordanian Dinars. It's called the "Airport Express bus" which runs from 6 am to 6 pm (every 30 minutes) and 6pm to 12 midnight (every 60 minutes). By bus, from the airport to central Amman it usually takes from 45 minutes to an hour.

taxis always wait outside the arrivals area of each terminal and make sure you tell the driver to use the meter, or better still, agree a fare before he sets off to avoid being ripped off. Taxi fares within Amman are very cheap but if you're going further away from the city centre you can expect to pay between JOD 15 and JOD 23 to places like Alsalt and Alzarqa.
