Hi everyone, We are relocating to Indiana in the Summer 2010 with my husbands job. I would appreciate any advice from people who have made the move, but am particularly interested in hearing about cars, banks, shipping, schools, food, renting a house, weather and getting a job (I'm a speech therapist in the UK). Any pitfalls we can avoid based on your experiences would be helpful. Many thanks
Indiana is a big state. You'll need to narrow it down to get better answers. Having said this, I can tell you that Carmel is very nice and the schools there are great, though they do work on school boundaries so the school your children would go to will depend on where you live. Here it is the Carmel School boundary map to work out what school your kids would go to, if you choose Carmel that is.
Hello! Did you make the move? I hope you find that Indiana is a friendly, fun place to be. The weather varies by location and season, but it's generally pretty decent. It does snow in the winter with a whole lot more snow in the north than the south. There are plenty of towns that have everything you need, including good roads and banks, along with good schools and great shopping. Carmel is lovely, Ruby is right. My family lives down in Bloomington, which is a university town with tons of life in it!
