I was wondering about car rental in the St Vincent and the Grenadines..is it recommended to rent a car in the islands? if so, do I book in advance?

You'll be able to find many car rental companies in St Vincent and the Grenadines, though I'd suggest renting a car from Kingstown ET Joshua Airport as it's the most convenient and hassle-free way to go about things.

I'd also suggest renting a car in advance to get good rates and get the car you want. By the way, in order to drive in the islands, you must:

    - first obtain a St Vincent driver’s license in the islands in order to drive any car rental.
    - you must also be 25 years old and carry a legal driver’s license and insurance from your country of origin.

You can obtain a St Vincent driver’s license at the police headquarters in Kingstown, on St Vincent, or any entry point into the country like the airport.
