    hi all!

I hear that research ships to Antarctica can sometimes take tourists or that you can board them. Is this true?
and are research ships to Antarctica cheaper than flying?

    Hi there,

Actually, a research ship is a great way to get to Antarctica and it is much cheaper than flying in. Also, on a research ship, you can even meet some of the scientists and learn more about Antarctica so it is great.

Im not sure that a research ship is better than a cruise ship but they're certainly safer as they have an ice-strengthened hull.

Also, most Antarctic research ships that are carrying tourists will also make stops in the South Shetland Islands, as well as South Georgia Island and the Falkland Islands.
