i have a few questions i hope you could answer..how long will it take driving around the Ring of Kerry? 2) what town would you suggest basing ourselves? 3)best time to do the tour to avoid the large crowds?

You could drive the Ring of Kerry in about 4 hours, but that is without traffic and not stopping along the way. If you intend on doing the a proper tour of the Ring of Kerry, you're looking at a full day affair.

There are two towns great for basing yourselves in the area - Kenmare and Killarney - however, I'd suggets staying in Kenmare because it brings less crowds and it will give you easy access to the Ring of Beara as well as the Ring of Kerry.

To avoid the crowds...Most tours leave Killarney between 8am and 10am so, if you were to leave Kenmare just about 10am, you will be at least an hour or so behind the worst of the crowd as you travel around the Ring.
