The Showboat Casino will be no more. Caesar's is closing down the Atlantic Casino gambling establishment as of August 31. Thanks to financial problems, the Revel Resort might be next. It's a simple numbers game is you look at it. I read that the revenue has fallen by half in the last five years, now that there are casinos in PA, Maryland, and New York. Will you miss the Showboat? What do you think about the future of Atlantic City?

I was hearing local casino workers and community people protesting the closing of Showboat..the bad thing about this is that over 2000 people will be without a job. I haven't been to Atlantic City for a minute now but I am not hearing good things about the place..seems it's become a bit of a dump.

It is a shame for that many people to lose their jobs. Hopefully they'll be able to find new employment. It seems like people always want to go to the big new things...and with newer casinos within in a few hours in Atlantic City, it seems like an inevitability that people will go elsewhere.
