Some of the top attractions in Beirut include:
- The Agial Art Gallery that specialises in showcasing the work of local artists.
- The Al-Omari Mosque which was originally built in the 12th century by the Crusaders as the Church of St John the Baptist of the Knights Hospitallers, and converted by the Mamluks into a mosque in 1291.
- The Animal Encounter which is a well-known and respected refuge for unwanted wild animals in Beirut
i would suggest the American University of Beirut which is one of the Middle East's most prestigious educational institutes.
