Few cities in the United States are more tied into the their Irish heritage than Boston, and few days is this more apparent that March 17. The St. Patrick's Day Parade is a celebration of all things Irish. It takes place in South Boston and begins at 1 p.m. This year, the parade is planned for Sunday, which is March 18.

St Patrick’s Day is all about drinking

Other than going to the pubs and watching the parade, St Patrick's Day in Boston is mostly a drinking holiday popularized by the various pubs in town. The pubs will sell beer and some will have live music, but overal St Paddy's day won't hold things like free concert or fireworks like other celebrations.
