A couple of suggestions for travelers to Sydney is taking a cruise of Sydney Harbour. Take a break and enjoy an onboard scenic tour while enjoying a buffet dinner or take a whale watching tour. Sydney Harbour is also known for its fabulous New Year's Eve fireworks displays.

    Sydney Harbour Cruise vs ferry

Different tour operators offer cruises of the Sydney Harbor. one of the most popular cruise operators is Captain Cook Cruises. Saying this, if I were you I'd use the public ferry system rather taking a cruise of the harbor. You wont get a commentary with the ferry but it's cheaper and you get to mix with the locals and see a bit more than the cruise operators will show you.

Sydney has one of the most beautiful harbors ever for a city. Forget about a cruise...get a ferry or better still, just stroll along the beautiful quayside area and the botanical gardens for the most amazing views (all free of charge).
