im arriving in Faro in three weeks time. Im looking at taxi options rather than shuttle transfer but im getting mixed reviews about using taxis. Apprently, I may be sharing taxis with other people? any ideas of reputable taxi companies, prices, etc?

where exactly are you landing in Portugal? You can expect to pay anything between 48 and 65 euros plus €12 for tolls if traveling from, let's say, Lagos to the airport. Whichever you do, make sure you pick a taxi from the official taxi line at the airport arrivals. Dont be tempted to go with any unmarked cab even if they are offering a cheap ride. Btw, Yellowfish, Resorthoppa and DIY taxis are all reputable taxi companies in Portugal.

    portugal taxi advice

whether is faro, lisbon, or lagos be prepared to be ripped off! You won't be able to escape it unless you speak some decent portuguese. Even portuguese people know that the taxi rank at the airport is a no-no. The cab drivers at the airport are infamous for ripping off their foreign customers. Keep an eye on the taximeter and make sure the driver actually switches on during the ride!
