The National Park Service turns 100 years old in August this year and Theodore Roosevelt National Park will be the place to celebrate. To get there you can fly into Dickinson in western North Dakota to visit the park and see the beautiful rolling grasslands and bison roaming free, as well as visiting the Elkhorn Ranch (40 miles north of Medora) where Roosevelt spent many years of his life.

I was there last year in spring and saw lots of wildlife and the views of the Little Missouri River in the North Unit are amazing. It's a great place to escape the crowds but avoid the summer months!
