For your information, anyone traveling to Costa Rica needs to know that there has been a few changes for tourists. You are now required to proof that your finances are in good health before you are allowed in but it's only something like $100 per month while you are in Costa Rica as a tourist.

Yes, this is true. Also, early this year the Costa Rica increased the exit/departure tax to $29 for tourists arriving and leaving Costa Rica. By the way, make sure that your passport is in good condition as I heard reports that some folks had issues with the Costa Rican Immigration officers. You should also read some advise on health and safety in Costa Rica.

    Costa Rica exit/arrival tax

I remember back in 2010 when the exit/arrival tax was $26 and $15 respectively. Still, this increase is really modest and won't break the bank of most tourists. By the way, people should know that you this exit/arrival tax is only for people flying in/out of Costa Rica. If you entering the country by land, you are exempt from the tax.
