Baku is easily one of the most beautiful cities in Central Asia, boasting mosques, cathedrals and museums mostly located in the Old City.

Things to see in Baku that you cannot miss seeing are: the Heydar Aliyev Cultural center, the TV Tower of Baku, the Holy Myrrhbearers Cathedral, the Church of the Saviour, the Turkish Mosque, the Taza Pir Mosque, the Carpet Museum, the Mukhtarov Palace and the National Park Gobustan.

If you've ever been to Dubai, the city of Baku will remind you alot to Dubai because of the striking tall sky scrapers. the part of Baku is where the fun is and where you want to spend much of your time snapping pictures of the buildings like Qiz Qalasi (“Maiden’s Tower), the fortress walls, etc.

I remember traveling to Baku for 2012's Eurovision contest. Almost a week in Baku is enough but make sure you you get a guide. Baku has many tourist attractions like the downtown Fountains Square, the One and Thousand Nights Beach, Shikhov Beach and Oil Rocks.
