If you plan to travel by ferry from Trinidad to Tobago, be aware that ferry tickets cannot be bought online so you have to be in Trinidad or Tobago to get them. You can buy tickets in advance at certain travel agencies in both Trinidad and Tobago islands. Same day tickets (one way tickets are $50) can be bought at the wharf before sailing but you must be there at least 2 hours before sailing.

There are two fast ferries doing this route and they are the T&T Express and the T&T Spirit. The crossing takes approximately 2 ½ hours. As far as prices, I think the original poster may have quoted in Trinidadian Dollars. The single trip ticket is TT$50 which is about US$8 for the fast ferry and US$12 for a place aboard the Conventional Vessel Warrior Spirit.
